Fiji: Labasa wins IDC again

Under the gaze of senior national team coach Lisa Cole, Labasa and Ba made the Inter-District Championship final for the fifth time, with Ba winning the last three and Labasa winning one. The match was held at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

Labasa went ahead on the scoreboard early on with Stella Naivalulevu scoring in the 15th minute. Labasa who dominated the game in the first half still scored through Cema Nasau before the end of the first half. In the 66th minute Adi Anasimeci Volitikoro scored Labasa’s third goal, practically confirming the title for Labasa. There was still time for Cema Nasau to score the fourth goal with ten minutes to go. This is Labasa’s fourth IDC title in the history of the women’s tournament.

Cema Nasau, who scored 9 goals, was the golden boot of the competition. Seruwaia Vasuitoga, Rewa’s goalkeeper was the golden glove of the competition.
