Labasa FC bolsters squad with Solomon Islands trio for Digicel Fiji Premier League push

Labasa FC has announced the addition of three Solomon Islands national team players for the remainder of the season. The new signings include Solomon Warriors midfielder Tigi Molea, Galaxy FC’s Atkin Kaua, and Central Coast FC’s striker Junior Fordney. All three players recently represented Solomon Islands at the OFC Nations Cup in Vanuatu.

Labasa currently sits in second place on the league table, trailing leaders Rewa by just two points. The addition of these three talents aims to strengthen their squad as they make a push for the title.

In a surprising move, SIFF had previously stated that Kaua would return to Laugu United of the Telekom S-League after his stint with Galaxy FC in Vanuatu. However, Labasa has confirmed via their social media accounts that they have secured the services of Kaua along with Molea and Fordney.

Kaua, who was a standout performer for Solomon Islands during the OFC Nations Cup, brings significant experience and skill to Labasa’s midfield. Both Kaua and Fordney have previous playing experience in Fiji, which is expected to ease their integration into the team.

Labasa fans are eagerly anticipating the impact of these new signings as the team aims to close the gap and overtake Rewa in the title race.
