Port Vila Football League – Week 3 Review

The PVFA Premier League’s Week 3 is over. Four matches were played in Port Vila top division and Oceania Football Center brings a review of each match for you! The biggest novelty was Galaxy FC livestreaming their game against Erakor Golden Star in YouTube. That is an amazing initiative and we hope that more and more games can be livestreamed!

TAFEA 3-1 MAUWIA

Mauwia almost felt the taste of a win. After winning by 1-0 in the half-time, they were surprised by two quick goals in the beginning of the second half by Cyril Leo and Allista Kalip and could not find the net’s path to take some points from Tafea. It was the first goal scored by Mauwia in this Premier League while Tafea remains unbeaten with three wins in three matches. Harrison Massing scored Tafea’s third and last goal of the match to seal the 3-1 win.

TUPUJI IMERE 0-0 YATEL

Tupuji Imere is living a nightmare season so far. After winning the Independence Cup and making the semifinals in the Opening Cup, they still did not score a single goal in this Premier League edition and their fans are beginning to be worried about it while Yatel improved their level after being smashed by Galaxy in the first game. Will both teams fight against releagation until the end of the league?

IFIRA BLACK BIRD 2-0 SIA-RAGA

Ifira BB did not give chances to Sia-Raga and built the final score in the first half with goal by Alphonse Lency and Jean Pierre. They remain unbeaten in the third place tied with Galaxy (2nd place) with seven points each. Despite this loss Sia-Raga is showing everyone that they can be a competitive side in this Premier League while they stand in the fifth position.

GALAXY 2-2 ERAKOR GOLDEN STAR

The most awaited match of this weekend! During the week Galaxy announced that they would be livestreaming this game in YouTube and people from all over the world had the opportunity to watch it. As we stated in the preview Erakor was not a dead horse and push Galaxy hard to draw this clash by 2-2. Erakor surprised them and opened the scoreboard with a team captain Jackson Tasso goal. Galaxy recovered from it and turned the match with two goals scored in the first half (one by Kensi Tangis and one by Roberson). Loic Coulon was the Erakor’s savior scoring their second goal to secure the 2-2 draw. Erakor Golden Star is in the fourth place with five points while Galaxy lost the lead to Tafea and is currently in the second position with seven points. With one more goal scored, forward Kensi Tangis has now eight goals scored in three matches and remains as the league topscorer. “A young EGS team today was enough to challenge a mixture of Galaxy FC Brazilian players. We take our mistakes and strategies…” stated Kalo Noel Benjamin, Erakor Golden Star head coach.
