David Browne helps HJK to reach national cup’s final in Finland

One of the most powerful teams from Finland, HJK is very close to one more title after beating FC Haka by 3-2 in the Finnish Cup semi-final. Papua New Guinean forward David Browne played 67 minutes in the contest.

Tim Väyrynen scored twice in the first half and Riku Riski found the net in the beginning of the second half to give HJK the 3-1 lead. Eero Markkanen scored for Haka in the 78th minute but it was not enough.

After some matches coming from the bench, David Browne returned to the starting eleven in the most important match of the year so far and he played an important role in the match: the second goal scored by his team was netted by Väyrynen after a Browne’s shot saved by the keeper; he also delivered a beautiful assist to Riku Riski score HJK’s third goal.

He left the pitch in the 67th minute when he was replaced by Colombian player Luis Murillo. You can check the match highlights by clicking here.

Browne is back to HJK starting eleven

Browne and his teammates will face Inter Turku or FC Lahti in the final. HJK is the most successful club in the cup’s history with thirteen titles. They last won the Finnish Cup in 2016-17.
