Malakai Rakula reinforces Lautoka until bordes reopen in New Zealand

The New Zealand international Malakai Rakula will reinforce the squad of Lautoka, as it was recently stated by Oceania Football Center. The former Ba representative is one of the most important signings of Lautoka from the past transfer period.

Rakula will be loaned to Lautoka as his ITC (International Transfer Certificate) is currently with New Zealand based-side Manukau United. The player moved back to Fiji, but the COVID-19 pandemic did not allow Rakula to rejoin his compatriot Poasa Bainivalu and Kishan Sami in New Zealand.

The player in an exclusive online meeting with Oceania Football Center explained he will be forced to continue in Fiji until the international borders reopen, allowing him to move back to Auckland. During this period, Rakula asked Manukau United to continue playing in Vodafone Premier League to keep his fitness and get valuable game time, something that was agreed between Rakula, Manukau and his now new club Lautoka.

Rakula will not be available for Lautoka’s clash against Ba this Wednesday (15th July) – the player confirmed his debut will be against Navua next Sunday.
