Darold Kakasi secures 3rd place for Ba in Battle of Giants with a brace against Nadi

The young Solomon Islander Darold Kakasi was the responsible to secure the 3rd place for Ba in the 2020 edition of the Battle of Giants as the attacker scored two goals against Nadi in the 3rd/4th playoff match.

Kakasi opened the scoreline at the 14th minute of play for Ba – the Men in Black kept the one-goal advantage to half-time break, but in the second minute of the second half Jolame Vukivuki equalised for Nadi. Both sides continued to press high, but it seemed that Nadi and Ba were going to another extra-time – the teams also went to extra-time spells in the semi-final stage.

But the talent of Kakasi stepped up once again in the injury time to secure Ba another goal and the bronze medal in the 2020 edition of Battle of Giants. The Solomon Islander that almost left the team in the latest transfer window period in Fiji ended up being the start of the day to give some joy to the Men in Black supporters.

Despite Ba’s defeat in the semi-final against Rewa, the Ba fans will have something to be proud of from their participation in the Battle of Giants. Nadi surprised everyone as they won all their matches in the group stage, but could not keep the good momentum this weekend in the decisive stage.

Rewa and Suva will be playing a very entertaining game to decide which side will be crowned champions of the traditional tournament in Fiji.
