Vanuatu: Vatu, Philip, Chilia and Aru arrive in India for Intercontinental Cup

After hard-fought defeat by 3-1 to Lebanon in their debut match of the Intercontinental Cup, the Vanuatu national team received a boost as their staff members and missing players finally arrived in India on the 11th of June. The delay in their arrival was caused by the unforeseen delays in the granting of their visas, which prevented them from traveling with the rest of the team on Friday.

Among the staff members who joined the team in Bhubaneswar, India, were the Team Manager, Peter Takaro, and the Team Physio, Albert Kaipam. Their presence will undoubtedly provide valuable support and guidance to the players as they prepare for their upcoming matches in the tournament.

Additionally, the remaining players who were unable to travel earlier have now joined the team as well. Selwyn Vatu, Lency Philip, James Chilia, and Claude Aru, eager to make their mark on the tournament, arrived in India to bolster the Vanuatu squad. Their arrival will provide much-needed depth and options to the team’s lineup, allowing the coach Etienne Mermer to make strategic decisions based on the strengths and abilities of these players.
