Trina Davis of Fiji Women’s National team to showcase skills in Wellington Phoenix

In a significant development that highlights the growing recognition of Fijian football worldwide, Trina Davis, a standout player from th Fiji Kulas team, is poised to undergo trials with the Wellington Phoenix Football Club in New Zealand. Trina’s captivating performances on the field have garnered attention from football enthusiasts, propelling her into a trial stint that is not only a personal achievement but also a testament to the potential of Fijian football on the global stage. Alongside Davis, another Fijian women’s talent, the youngster Angeline Rekha member of the U-19 national team, is set for trials with the Phoenix in the upcoming weeks.

Hailing from the United States, Trina Davis has consistently showcased her determination and exceptional skills as a key player in the national team squad. This upcoming trial stint with Wellington Phoenix marks a significant chapter in her football journey. While this isn’t her first experience in professional football, Trina expresses her thrill and deep honor at the opportunity to demonstrate her capabilities at a respected club like Wellington Phoenix. At the age of 21, Trina’s trajectory in professional football began in 2021 when she signed a contract with the Israeli club ASA Tel Aviv. Subsequently, she further solidified her career path by joining Puerto Rico Sol FC in the Superior Femenino de la Liga Puerto Rico, the top-tier women’s football league. Her journey follows the footsteps of another Fijian trailblazer, Roy Krishna, who made an impact as the captain of the Fiji National Team and enjoyed a successful tenure with Wellington Phoenix.

Looking ahead to the Wellington Phoenix trial, Trina anticipates an environment of dynamic and fast-paced game. Despite the challenge that lies ahead, she eagerly anticipates the opportunity to be part of a team again after her recovery from an injury last year.
