Japanese import Kohei Matsumoto scores his first goal for Solomon Warriors

Solomon Warriors FC secured their second win of the 2024/25 Telekom S-League season with a 3-1 victory over Henderson Eels FC, with Japanese import Kohei Matsumoto registering his debut goal for the club in only his second match for the club.

In a match played at East End Stadium this Wednesday (01st May), Matsumoto, along with teammates Gagame Feni and Tigi Molea scored the three goals in Warriors’ win. Matsumoto’s goal marked a significant moment for the 34-year-old player, who displayed his experience and skill on the field.

The win sees Solomon Warriors maintain their winning start to the season, positioning them well in their title defence campaign – the team coached by Franco Ne’e registered its second win in two matches played so far.

Other matches of the day saw Real Kakamora come on top of nine-men Marist side by 4-0 while Southern United led by star striker Jonh Orobulu had no issues to beat Kossa by 5-0. In Lawson Tama a late goal from Chris Ha’atarau in the second half was enough for Laugu to get past a well drilled Wanegau FC side. Central Coast continued his peak form proving to be one the of the title contenders of the season with a impressive 5-0 win over Juniper Tree as SOSA was unable to avoid defeat to Honiara City in the final match of the day.
