James Laena, the rising star of Solomon Islands football, has begun training with his new club, Solomon Warriors, as they prepare for a crucial Telekom S-League match against Real Kakamora this weekend. The match is expected to be a significant and tightly contested encounter between two of the league’s top sides.
Laena, who was one of the standout performers in the U19 OFC Men’s Championship, joined the Warriors following his impressive performances with the Solomon Islands U19 national team. The 19-year-old, who hails from the Western Province, has quickly attracted attention with his potential and skill. Solomon Warriors, the reigning Telekom S-League champions, moved swiftly to secure his services for the remainder of the season. Laena’s arrival during the week after the U19 OFC Men’s Championship meant he was unavailable for the Warriors’ recent 6-0 victory over Kossa FC.

Also seen in the Warriors’ colors recently is Barrie Limoki, a former Nadroga FC player from Fiji. Limoki’s presence adds to the Warriors’ strengthened squad as they aim to maintain their dominance in the league.
Laena’s debut season in the Telekom S-League is highly anticipated, and his integration into the Warriors’ squad will be closely watched. The upcoming match against Real Kakamora promises to be a defining moment for both teams as they vie for top positions in the league standings.
