Rewa keeps the good run by winning at stoppage time as Nasinu heartbreaks Labasa

The third matchweek of 2020 Vodafone Premier League is over. Only three matches were played this Sunday as Lautoka is playing OFC Champions League and Ba is in New Zealand training for the continental tournament.

After losing two matches Nasinu received Labasa at Ratu Cakobau Park with a mission to get their first points in the league. Nasinu’s captain Jone Naraba scored in thee second half to give the lead to the Giantkillers as Labasa could not find the net. The 1-0 win was crucial and could mean a new begin for Nasinu in the season. On the other hand Labasa must get down to business and work hard because they now have two losses in three matches.

Nadi received Rewa at Prince Charles Park after losing to Lautoka by 6-0 last weekend. It was not a very good match for Nadi as they could not find the net for the second straight game. This match marked Patrick Joseph‘s return for Rewa after spending some years with Nadi. The 21-year-old was the hero of the match as he scored a penalty kick in the 91st minute to give the win to Rewa. The Delta Tigers won their second straight match and they are now in the second position.

Suva visited Navua at Uprising Resort Ground looking for a win. They had a good start and Christopher Wasasala scored his third goal in the season to open the scoreboard for Capital City Boys. However it was not enough as Monit Chand – who was debuting in the season, scored for Navua to keep the match drawn. Despite getting one point, Navua is now in the eighth and last position in the league as Nasinu won their weekend’s match. Suva is now in the third position with four points.
