The Vodafone/Fiji FA Awards Night is going to take place on Saturday. This is one of the most important moments of the year for Fijian football as the top players from the previous year are awarded for their dedication to the sport.
Two players from Labasa are contesting for the “Popular Footballer of The Year” award: Akuila Mateisuva and Siotame Kubu.
Mateisuva and Kubu were key players for their team in 2019. Both players were part of the squad that won the Battle of the Giants (BOG) and the Inter-District Championship (IDC) last year. Kubu even scored Babasiga Lions’ winning goal in the BOG.

The other three contesters are Filipe Baravilala (Suva), Jeshal Kumar (Nadi) and Adi Litia Bakaniceva (Tailevu Naitasiri Women’s).
The “Popular Footballer of The Year” award poll is open to the public and people can vote by message.
