After spending one season playing for Wellington Phoenix, Gary Hooper is ready to depart for a new adventure. The 32-year-old striker from England has agreed to a one-year contract with Kerala Blasters from Indian Super League.
Hooper was an important player for Phoenix in 2019-20 Hyundai A-League as he scored eight goals in 21 matches. He also played one match with Wellington Phoenix Reserves at ISPS Handa Premiership – the major football league from New Zealand.

The English striker is not the only former Wellington Phoenix player that will feature in the next Indian Super League as Fijian legend Roy Krishna and David Williams are going to play another season for ATK that are now called ATK-Mohun Bagan.
