Misiwani Nairube is finally back from injury. The 24-year-old goalkeeper is recovered from a knee injury suffered in Ba’s 2-1 win over Lautoka in July and he is confirmed in the squad for 2020 Inter-District Championship that will be contested next week.
Nairube was replaced by Isikeli Sevanaia, a 17-year-old goalkeeper that proved himself at senior level with good performances as he was named the Best Goalkeeper in 2020 Battle of the Giants. Having Nairube back is very good for Ba’s head coach Ronil Kumar who will count on two good goalkeepers in the squad.
On the other hand, Kumar will not count on Manasa Nawakula and Saula Waqa who are currently suspended after testing positive for marijuana – which is not permitted in football – on August 7.
Ba is the most successful team in Inter-District Championship’s history with 24 titles. The Men in Black‘s opening match will be against Nadi at ANZ Stadium on Tuesday. You can check the tournament’s schedule by clicking here.
