Gagame Feni double confirms Solomon Islands as winners of the Tri-Nations as they beat Fiji

In the final matchday of the Tri-Nations tournament played at Churchill Park in Lautoka, Fiji on the 26th of March 2023, Gagame Feni scored a brace for the Solomon Islands to secure a 2-0 win over Fiji.

Feni, who was the top scorer of the previous season’s Telekom S-League for Kossa FC, opened the scoring for his country with a penalty-kick in the 40th minute of play. This victory marked the third consecutive win for the Solomon Islands in the Tri-Nations tournament, making them the undisputed winners of the competition. The team is coached by Spanish coach Felipe Vega-Arango, who has been instrumental in their success.

Feni’s performance in the match was outstanding and he was rightly awarded the man of the match award for his efforts. His goals were a testament to his skills as a striker and showed why he was the top scorer in the Telekom S-League.
