Siotame Kubu’s decisive goal crowned at Awards Night in Fiji

Siotame Kubu was one of the most important players in the Fijian football last season. The 26-year-old forward helped Labasa to lift three trophies in the last twelve months: Battle of the Giants (BOG), Inter-District Championship (IDC) and Champion vs Champion Series (CVC).

Kubu was the top scorer of his team in the 2019 football season with twelve goals. and the most important one was also the most beautiful one that will never be forgotten by the supporters. He scored Labasa’s winning goal against Lautoka in the Battle of the Giants final by lobbing the goalkeeper to find the net and give the title to his team to end Babasiga Lions’ 19-year drought. He deservedly won this award and he must be taken into consideration by Fiji National Team’s head coach Flemming Serritslev for OFC Nations Cup as he has enough quality to be part of the squad.
