Fijian defender Scott Wara released by Stoke City

Scott Wara is not a Stoke City’s player anymore. The 20-year-old defender from Fiji was one of the eleven players released by the club this week. The announcement was made through the club’s official website.

Born in Lautoka, Wara moved to England with his parents when he was very young and started to play football seriously when he was 13. He leaves Stoke City after many years representing the club at youth level – “Since I was a young kid I have always dreamt of becoming a professional footballer […] I would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff, players and fans for helping me to grow into not only as a player but also as a person. Unfortunately things did not work out how I hoped they would to but I am excited and looking forward to what future holds,” stated Wara on social media.
