Absolom Wawane set to join Kingz for Telekom S-League’s second round

After finishing the first half of 2020 Telekom S-League in the last position with no points, Malaita Kingz have to work the extra mile in order to become a competitive side in the national football league from the Solomon Islands.

After losing midfielder Charlie Otainao, who left the team to join current Telekom S-League leaders Henderson Eels, Kingz’s head coach Rence Talo confirmed that new players are going to join the team in the current transfer window for the second half of the season – and one of these players is Absolom Wawane.

Absolom Wawane

Absolom Wawane is a 19-year-old defender who last played for Hollington United FC in the 9th tier of English football. He is already known by Malaita Kingz’s fans as he played there before moving to England. According to Talo, they are waiting for the player’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC) from English FA to confirm the transfer.

Wawane is currently in quarantine along with other Royals Academy players who arrived from England this week. It would not be a surprise if we see more players from Royals Academy joining Malaita Kingz for the rest of the season, which would be very good for the team coached by Rence Talo.

  1. Great on you Wawane for joining Malaita Kings. Your inclusion will be a motivation for the boys to fight the battle. We should encourage younger boys to prove their potentials in weaker teams rather than joining the strong ones who have already proved their potentials. The weak teams are good to evaluate the players skills and courage.
