Papua New Guinea sets international friendly; provisional squad is announced

Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) has recently announced a friendly match between the national team, known as the Kapuls, and Singapore. The match is scheduled to take place on June 12th, providing an exciting opportunity for the team to showcase their talents on the international stage.

The Kapuls missed the last window for international friendly matches, but there have been significant changes within the team since then. With the appointment of Percy Mataio as the new Technical Director, there has been a renewed focus on team development and performance. The hiring of Mataio has brought a fresh perspective and a new sense of optimism to the team.

Taking charge of the Kapuls’ coaching responsibilities is Harrison Kamake, who will guide the team’s preparations for the upcoming friendly match. Kamake will have the important task of molding the players into a cohesive unit, ensuring they are well-prepared to face Singapore.

To select the best possible squad, PNGFA has already announced a preliminary 33-man list for a training camp. This comprehensive list includes notable players such as Ronald Warisan, Raymond Gunemba, and Emmanuel Simon, who are well-known for their contributions to Papua New Guinean football. The training camp will provide an opportunity for the coaching staff to assess the players’ skills, fitness levels, and overall suitability for the upcoming friendly match. In addition to the men’s team, there are expectations that the Lakatois, the PNG women’s national team, will also have a friendly match in the following month. However, further details regarding this match are yet to be issued, leaving fans eager for more information.
