The Oceania Football Confederation representants is the first side to reach Doha in Qatar to play the FIFA Clubs World Cup. Hienghène Sport will be among giant teams as Liverpool FC from England and the traditional Brazilian side CR Flamengo.
This will be the first experience of any New Caledonian side in the competition – Hienghène was the first team from the French territory to win the OFC Champions League, after beating their countrymen of AS Magenta. Recently the New Caledonian champions reinforced their squad with the addition of a Japanese player.
The team from the north of New Caledonia made a 13.000km trip to the Qatari capital. They will be facing the local champions Al-Sadd in the next 11th December.
