This weekend marked the final of a very important tournament for Fiji football – the Pacific Cup played in New Zealand where many sides from the Vodafone Player League played. Traditional sides as Lautoka, Labasa, Suva and Nadi took place in the competition playing against players from overseas nations.
The grand final game saw Lautoka to lift the trophy with a 1-0 victory over Labasa. Two Ni-Vanuatu players helped the team in blue to win the cup – the international Alex Saniel and Jason Thomas.
Another important players took part in the competition, as the Solomon Islands internationals Andrew Abba and Michael Boso and Fijian internationals Samuela Drudru and Rusiate Matarerega.
