Ba, Labasa, Rewa and Suva advance to Women’s IDC semifinals in Fiji

The group stage of 2020 Women’s Inter-District Championship came to an end in Fiji as the final matchday was contested this Friday at ANZ Stadium in Suva to decide the semi-final clashes that will be played on Sunday.

Ba and Labasa clashed in the first match of the day. Both teams were tied at the top of Group B with six points each, so that match would decide the group winners. After a 2-1 win in the first half, Labasa was surprised by Ba in the second half as Cema Nasau and Koleta Likuculacula scored twice each to give Ba the 5-2 win.

The second match of the day was contested between Rewa and Suva. Just like in the previous match, both sides were tied on top of Group A with six points each. Vaniana Riwai scored from the penalty spot to open the scoreboard for Suva while Karala Vakayaru got the equaliser in the second half. The 1-1 draw was a good deal for Suva that remained on top of the group.

In the other two matches of the day, Nadroga beat Nasinu by 1-0 while Tailevu Naitasiri defeated Nadi by 3-2. These games did not have any impact in the tournament as these four teams were already eliminated.

With these results, the semi-final matches were defined: Suva vs Labasa and Ba vs Rewa. As it was mentioned above, these clashes will be contested at ANZ Stadium on Sunday. You can check more information about 2020 Women’s Inter-District Championship by clicking here.
