Fiji: Nasinu humiliated by Navua and relegated to Vodafone Senior League

Navua and Nasinu clashed at Uprising Resort Ground in the fourteenth and final matchweek of 2020 Vodafone Premier League, the top tier league from Fiji. It was a do or die match for both sides as the loser of this match would be relegated.

Nasinu were fighting against the odds as the team coached by Tagi Vonolagi was the bottom placed side with only eight points and they had the mission of beating Navua at their home – and they failed. Brian Charitar scored a hat-trick to put Navua ahead by 3-0 while Waisiki Ravouvou scored for Nasinu in the final minutes of the first half.

Despite the late goal in the first half, Nasinu could not have a big reaction as Mannav Permal scored for Navua in the first minute of the second half. Monit Chand, Mosese Balenagaga and youngster Thomas Dunn also scored once each to seal Navua’s victory by 7-1.

This impressive win secured a spot in 2021 Vodafone Premier League. On the other hand, Nasinu felt the bitter taste of relegation after remaining in the top tier league of Fijian football for two seasons. You can check all details about 2020 Vodafone Premier League by clicking here.
