The 2020 Vodafone Premier League came to an end this weekend when the fourteenth and last matchweek was contested in Fiji. As it was previously reported, Suva were crowned the league champions after a nil-nil draw against Nadi to end a six-year title drought.
Winning this title was very special because, for most of the players in the current squad, it was the first title won with Suva, including Sairusi Nalaubu who was the top scorer of 2020 Vodafone Premier League with nine goals.

Nalaubu wins over teammate Christopher Wasasala and Nadi’s lethal striker Rusiate Matarerega to finish the season on top of Golden Boot Race. It is not the first time that Nalaubu is the top scorer of a tournament – he was also the top scorer of 2019 Battle of the Giants when Suva were defeated by Lautoka in the semifinals.
The 24-year-old forward is living an amazing moment in his career: he scored 14 goals in 18 official matches this year, including Vodafone Premier League, Battle of the Giants and Inter-District Championship. With this excellent record, Sairusi needs to be closely followed by Fiji National Team’s head coach Flemming Serritslev.
