Gagame Feni scores a hat-trick as Warriors beat Marist in Telekom S-League

Marist FC and Solomon Warriors clashed at Lawson Tama Stadium in the final match of the thirteenth matchweek of Telekom S-League, the national football league from the Solomon Islands, and the title holders confirmed their favouritism by beating their opponents in a match full of goals.

The first two goals of the contest were scored by Gagame Feni in the final minutes of the first half after nice assists by Vanuatu international John Alick and talented midfielder Molea Tigi. Warriors also found the net in the second time, and Haddis Aengari headed the ball into the net after a corner kick taken by Judd Molea in the 64th minute. A few minutes later, Jerry Donga passed the ball to Gagame Feni who dribbled a defender before scoring for the third time in the day.

Marist’s first goal was netted by Bobby Lesley in the 72nd minute after a great pass from Jerry Allen Junior in a beautiful counter-attack. They did not have a lot to celebrate as Alvin Hou scored Warriors’ fifth goal a few minute later.

Marist’s midfielder Alfia Aunga was fouled by Haddis Aengari inside the box and John Aeta scored from the penalty spot while Junior Rocky pushed the ball into the net after a nice play by Steward Toata in the stoppage time. At the final whistle, Warriors defeated Marist by 5-3.

This match brought a lot of excitement for Warriors’ fans as they could see Gagame Feni and Micah Lea’alafa back after joining the team in the mid-season transfer window. The title holders are currently in the fourth position in the league with 22 points while Marist are in tenth with nine points.
