The current champions of India tasted their first defeat of the season after they were beaten by Jamshedpur by 2-1 away from home. Despite suffering their first goals of the season and first defeat, the good individual moment of their captain and Fijian international Roy Krishna continued; the 33-year-old star scored the consolation goal for ATK-MB at the 80th minute of play. After suffering a brace for the last golden boot winner of the league Nerijus Valskis, ATK-MB managed to pull one back at the 80th minute when Krishna received the ball on-side and passed by the keeper putting the ball at the back of the nets.
This was the fourth goal of the Fijian in four matches played so far, a very impressive record, but with the brace of Valskis, Krishna is now behind him in the golden boot race as the Lithuanian has five goals and the Fijian has four.
ATK Mohun Bagan had some chances to save a point in the deadly minutes of the clash, but the result remained the same; the first defeat for Krishna’s side – but still a good performance of the Fijian wonderkid.
