SALT FC complete unbeaten season with dominant 11–3 victory in Solomon Islands futsal final

SALT FC have crowned an exceptional 2026 campaign in Solomon Islands futsal, defeating Haura FC 11–3 in the SIFF Super Futsal Top 8 Championship final at Friendship Hall in Honiara on Friday, 9 October.

The emphatic victory completed a domestic double for SALT, who had already secured the 2026 SIFF Super Futsal League title with a perfect record, winning every league match without a single draw or defeat.

Coached by Stanley Puairana, SALT entered the championship decider after an impressive 8–2 semifinal victory over Dawn FC. Their opponents, Haura FC, had booked their place in the final with a 3–1 win against Roma FC.

However, SALT proved too strong in the title showdown, scoring 11 goals to secure another trophy and underline their dominance of the domestic futsal scene.

Haura, meanwhile, completed an impressive campaign of their own, finishing second in both the regular league standings and the Top 8 Championship.

The conclusion of the season also brought individual recognition for several outstanding performers. SALT’s Stanley Puairana was named Coach of the Season, while Alvin Hou received the Golden Ball award and teammate Leonard Auwakea claimed the Golden Glove.

Stride FC’s Alo Kevin finished with the Golden Boot award, while Futsal GC received the Fair Play Award.

In the final league standings, SALT finished ahead of Haura FC, Kukstaon FC and Stride FC, who occupied the remaining positions in the top four.

The domestic triumph now puts SALT in the spotlight ahead of the 2027 OFC Futsal Club Championship in Tahiti, where the Solomon Islands champions are expected to represent their country against leading clubs from across Oceania.

For SALT, the 2026 season will be remembered not only for the trophies but also for the remarkable consistency that established them as the dominant force in Solomon Islands futsal.
