Honiara City and Kossa share the spoils in Telekom S-League

Honiara City and Kossa clashed at Lawson Tama Stadium this Sunday – TSL Media

A late goal scored by Honiara City’s Clement Wasi prevented Kossa FC from winning three important points at Lawson Tama Stadium as both sides move even further away from the first positions in the league table.

The match had a clear set up in the first half: Honiara City with more ball possession while Kossa played vertically to reach the opposite box. The first goal of the match was scored by Himson Teleda in the 25th minute. He received a pass from Dunstan Quanafia to score from inside the six-yard-box to open the scoreboard for Kossa.

Honiara City’s head coach Jerry Allen tried to do something different in the second half, but nothing has changed compared to the first half. Augustine Ofai came from the bench in the 54th minute to replace Alick Solo in order to bring more dynamics to Honiara City.

Kossa still had more opportunities in the attack, but they failed to extend their lead, and their consecutive failed attempts were punished in the 83rd minute when Coleman Wasi equalized for Honiara City. At the final whistle, the score was an 1-1 draw.

With this result, Honiara City and Kossa finished the thirteenth matchweek of the season in sixt and ninth, respectively.. You can check Telekom S-League standings, results and top scorers by clicking here.
